GM Fuzz Up FD3-A (enclosure)

This may the closest I ever get to one of these rare late 60's fuzzes.

Last week I was lucky enough to have one of the blog readers contact me and see if I wanted just the enclosure of a GM Fuzz Up FD3-A. The pedal nerd/collector in me obviously said "yes!".

So fast forward to today and here she is...
Something that is pretty cool I've never noticed before, is that there is a switch for Low and High Fuzz.

I wonder what was going on in there???

If you happen to be an owner of one of these little babies that actually has a working circuit in it, please email me!
ok Thanks for reading.

Bad Mother

So this just popped up on ebay///

It's a reverse-graphic EHX Bad Stone from the late 70's.
I have never seen one like this before, but it's pretty damn cool looking!

thanks!

A Pair of Freshies //

Sometimes the world works in mysterious ways...
and in a random turn of events I went from searching for a Seamoon Fresh Fuzz for over 6 years, to finding both versions within 3 months of each other!

On the right is the 1st version (circuit-wise) of the Fresh Fuzz, and on the left is the 2nd version. My initial impression is that V2 is way fuzzier and has a lot more gain to it than V1. But V1 is a lot boomier and fatter in the low end.

I'll do a full post on these in the future. But for now, just know that they are pretty different from each other, and yet both sound great in totally different ways!

Want to hear a Maestro Fuzz Phazzer?

Just found this demo online today of the Maestro Fuzz Phazzer!
It's pretty ridiculous sounding, and I think I may need to track one down now.

This is the FP-1, and I believe that there are 2 other versions, the FP-2 and FP-3.  I'm not sure what the differences are, but I'm assuming it's the fuzz?

(check out the secret "octave down" setting, it's pretty sweet)

Fuzz & Drive (a collection)

Here's something cool!
A nice set of demos from our friend Tiago Castro, or otherwise known in the fx forum circles as "SBlue", of his pretty sweet fuzz collection. Now the pedals do range from new to old, but it is rare to find such great comparisons all in one place.

So sit back and enjoy///
(and a big thank you! to Mr. Castro for putting all of this together)
